Job & Regain Requests

Post here if you want to request a new Job or a Regain from home! You can do it once every two weeks. Jessie will ask the character to do something in exchange for a Job or a Regain. Because Jessie is overwhelmed with work, she may ask the character to accomplish a quest for another NPC: namely, Cid, Wedge, Biggs, Artemicion or O'aka XXIV. Jessie does generally ask for things that will help her in her research. Missions given by Biggs will have a focus on fighting and military objectives, whereas those by Wedge will be more mundane and intellectual. Cid's requests will always relate in some way to Magitek or Airship and O'aka's quests will have to do with smuggling and overall illegal things. Artemicion is a wild card, who knows what he may ask. Regains may be refused if they're too large / game breaking / god-moddy. Remember that there is a limit of five Jobs as to how many your character can hold at once, ten if you unlocked the first skill of Onion Knight. If you plan on taking a sixth (or eleventh) Job, you will have to discard one. Jessie will ask Ib to bring her Black Roses of Aqures. They're rare roses that can be found only in November and December, most frequently in the region between Aqures Ixen and the Chocobo Farm. As their name implies, they're black-colored roses and possess magical properties which Jessie needs for one of her experiment.

As there are very few monsters between Aqures Ixen and the Chocobo Farm, the mission should be relatively easy for Ib. As soon as she'll have brought back a sufficient numbers of these roses to Jessie (ten or more), Jessie will give her the Summoner Job.

Jessie will ask MarKus to go to the Magitek research Facility and scrap down a dozen of the mecha units that attacked characters during the event a couple months ago, then bring back the dismantled parts and the crystals at their core to her laboratory in the seventh district.

As the security system is offline, the mission should be relatively easy for MarKus, though he may have to fight if he accidentally reactivates an unit while dismantling it. As soon as he'll have brought her the dismantled parts and the core crystals, Jessie will give him the Thief Job.

Quest preference: Something Intellectual is fine. It is also alright to not get both requested jobs but Zelda really wants Archer to use the Bow Link had made her for Christmas so she will do almost anything to receive that job.

Jessie's reply to this request will come late because the mods didn't get the notif for this before for undisclosed reasons. It will come sometimes between the tenth and the seventeenth of February.

Jessie will tell Zelda there is a rich Hypello in Trano Golsaucia with a book she needs, and she will ask Zelda to go get that book. The book it titled "Theories on the First Crystal And Memories." To get that book however, Zelda will have to give the Hypello the book he wants-- Zelda will have to go through a trade sequence. She will start out with a free book given by Jessie, which she will have to trade for another book in the library of Aqures Ixen, which she will have to trade with the book of a Guardian in the Temple of Water in Flence, before finally making her final trade in Trano Golsaucia with the Hypello. As soon as she'll have brought back the right book to Jessie, Jessie will give her the Archer Job.

Jessie will request of Sephiroth that he inspects the characters currently in Crystal Stasis in the hospital. This should be no problem as the hospital is currently his second home. She will ask him to see if he can gather information about them to the other Heroes of Light, so as to establish a pattern for the crystallization process, even though it is unlikely any patterns will be found.

As soon as he'll have brought her the results, Jessie will give him the Scholar Job.

Character: Genesis Rhapsodos
Current Jobs: Maxing out Scholar and Red Mage at the end of this month and has MAGITEK Knight and Vampire in reserve (and will gain Bard in reserve when it's available). He will also have Onion Knight at the end of the month.

Quest preference: Intellectual would be preferred given that he is practically living in the Library, but he can also do some exploring/treasure hunting.

Jessie will give Genesis a delayed quest. She'll give him a small book written in Ancient, and her only request is that Genesis translates it. She's already read it before, but she is curious to see how the final skill of the Scholar Job works, as native of Crystallis do not get such a skill upon maxing Scholar. The book is 10 page long, so this should be quite easy for him to transcribe it.

The book speaks about the crystals, and elaborates on how they're crystallized manifestation of the life energy coursing the planet that couldn't return to the first crystal. Jessie will give in return one of the two Jobs he requested of her.

Jessie will tell Genesis to come back in two weeks for another request if he really wants the the other Job.

Jessie will request of Ales that he travels to Esdham to meet an engineer. Said engineer is working on the remains of the X-ATM105, the boss battle from January's Event. All Ales has to do is help him dismantle the robot, then bring the reports of what they found to Jessie. For the most part the robot is rudimentary but equipped with impressive motors and self-repair systems, as well as a crystal at its core.

As soon as he'll have brought her the results, Jessie will give him the Thief Job.

Jessie will ask Selphie to go and visit Mognet Central. An airship will take her there if needed. She just wants Selphie to interrogate the Moogles there and see if anything unusual has been happening lately. For the most part Moogles will say that nothing has really happened, though they have more glitches than usual.

As soon as she'll have brought back a report to Jessie Jessie will give Selphie her Nunchaku.

Current Jobs: MAXED Red Mage, Scholar, starting on Dragoon, and he has Onion Knight, Bard, Gambler as reserved (he dropped a coupe others as being boring).
Requested Job: Warrior
Quest preference: Something in which he can use what little fighting skills he has or bust out more of his Scholar's mad skills.

He also may come to talk to her later on in the week about something seriously bothering him about the parallels he's so far has found.

Jessie will ask Genesis to collect Hamster's fur: or rather, a few hairs. She has no delusions and cannot imagine Genesis can defeat Hamsters in a hundred years, but considering Heroes of Light can die and come back a week later with no scratch, a solid team should be able to survive long enough to collect a few hairs, which would prove invaluable for research.

As soon as he'll have brought back a few hairs to Jessie, Jessie will give him the Warrior Job.

You can chose to handwave this quest or log it with other players, but it is recommended you log it. Hamsters are yet impossible to defeat, and Genesis will have a hard time surviving unless he is backed by a full party of at least two people, hopefully more.

Quest preference: Kidd will be spending the rest of April in Aerilon working with the black market and criminal element. Any on the level or dirty work that Jessie needs done in that region could easily be made part of her trip.

Jessie will give Kidd a sealed envelope and ask her to go and meet O'aka XXIV in Aerilon. She'll have to give the envelope to O'aka, in exchange of which O'aka will give her a large sealed box containing very fragile equipment. The sealed box cannot be opened. The sealed envelope can be opened on the other hand, and should Kidd do it she'll find it contains a 2 million gils cashier’s check.

As soon as she'll have brought back the box to Jessie, Jessie will give her the Thief Job. The delivery has to be made in person, Mognet isn't available for this.

Jessie will ask Zelda if she can study her Loftwing for twenty-four hours. Should she accept, Jessie will ask to bring her the Loftwing on whatever day works best for her. Jessie will keep it for a full day before giving it back to Zelda, unharmed of course.

If she accepts, Jessie will give Zelda the Scholar Job.

Jessie will say she's heard Sparks Nevada brought back a Magitek Armor from the Research Facility would would like for Terra to study it and bring her a report about it.

Should she manage to convince Sparks to study it and should she bring her results back to Jessie, she will give Terra the Warrior Job.

Jessie will give Ib a letter and ask her to go to the museum dedicated to the history of Aqures Ixen and the legends surrounding the Heroes of Light in the third district. Ib will be asked to find the curator of the Museum, a Hypello who will be wandering in the art gallery. Upon giving him the letter, he will give Ib a covered painting.

As soon as she'll have brought back the painting to Jessie, she will give her the Illusionist Job.

Jessie will ask Kobato to go to the Aqurean Forest and try to perform the summoning of Ramuh, the Eidolon resting in this forest. Rumors say that the Eidolon fell to darkness as many others, and Jessie would like to know whether this is true or not.

Performing the summoning ritual will summon Dark Ramuh, but he will be too powerful for Kobato to ever defeat on her own. Upon telling Jessie her findings, Jessie will give her the Bard Job.

If you chose to fight Dark Ramuh, you will have to log the quest and it will result in the Eidolon being unlocked should Kobato and her team defeat it. Jessie will ask Bloom to head to the Calm Plains, between Aqures Ixen and Balicea. There is a small village on the South-- Someone in there sent her a letter regarding a silver crystal they found. All Bloom has to do is find the village and the one who sent the letter, get the silver crystal and bring it back to Jessie.

Upon bringing her the silver crystal, Jessie will give her the White Mage Job.

There has been a resurgence of monsters lately and the usual convoys have been delayed, so the big part of his mission consist in clearing the mines of the monsters, for now at least.

The workers will give him a map of the mines if needs it. Upon bringing her the Mythril, Jessie will give him the Blacksmith Job.

Jessie will ask Jade to capture, preferably alive, an imperial Magitek Knight or Illusionist. Magitek Knight and Illusionists are recently created, or at least re-discovered, Jobs. It should be impossible for soldiers native to Crystallis to already have them, so she'd need to study them to see what the Empire has done exactly to make this possible.

Given he is in the military, she has good hope he'll be able to encounter one during a mission. Upon bringing her one such soldier either dead or still alive, Jessie will give him the White Mage Job.

Quest preference: Fighting and/or exploration isn't out of the question; although, Nel does specialize best in gathering things like items or even information.

Jessie will ask Nel to go get her a list of everyone new who's arrived and go to Trano Golsaucia to get more information on the circumstances surrounding how the new Heroes appeared. Noticeably, she'll ask Nel to get all the details surrounding their awakening and look for traces of imperial agents or suspicious people. Nel will not find any spies there, though the Guardians of the Crystal of Water will tell her how the new Heroes appeared and woke up.

Upon bringing her a report, Jessie will give her the Thief Job.

Requested Regain: Magic Stamp Tool
Quest preference: Intellectual quests suit Levy the best - anything based around studying, research, information gathering, etc.

This stamp is a magic item from Levy's world, but the only thing it's used for is to put the Fairy Tail guild mark on people (she'll eventually be using it to do just that when she gets around to trying to open a guild here). I assume this would be subject to the usual weakening or effect-changing rules of magic items that come in as regains, but I was wondering how this one would be affected once she gets it. Limited number of uses / need to renew the mark every so often / have to 'charge' it somehow / etc?

Jessie will ask Levy to go to Flence and check if anything unusual happened around the Crystal of Wind on the day new Heroes appeared. If asked, the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind will tell her the Crystal shone for a few minutes, but then nothing else.

Upon bringing her a report, Jessie will give her the Magic Stamp Tool. The Stamp Tool will work only a limited number of time: ten times on NPCs, and four times on PCs. She will have to ask Jessie for a new one or to fix it after that.

Quest preference: If Jessie asks for something in return for the Regain, what sort of quest would best fit your character (exploration, fighting, something intellectual, treasure hunting, etc)? Exploration, Fighting, Treasure hunting. Intellectual would end badly for everyone. :D

Jessie is quite busy, so she will ask Sophie to go on her quest with Yugi and go to Balicea to meet the Queen of Cards. The Queen of Cards is the one who creates new cards for Triple Triad and spread them throughout Crystallis, but she needs special material to do cards: a Tonberry Knife, regular Crystals and special paper produced in Flence. She's out of all of them.

Upon helping the Queen of Cards get what she needs, Jessie will give her the Sopheria Seed. It is also possible for Sophie to lie to Jessie and say she did it, as Jessie won't check whether she truly did it or not.

Jessie will ask Saori to follow her, and will take her to a secured room in the laboratory. There, she will find some sort of machine at the center of the room with a Black Crystal floating over it-- The exact same Black Crystal she fought over in the Magitek Facility months ago and got Genesis killed. If asked, Jessie will explain that they retrieved this Black Crystal when Mograma, the Moogle with the Black Mage hat, was captured.

Jessie will ask her to try and approach the Crystal, but not grab it, just to see if it does react to her. Once again, if she gets close she'll hear a strong and alarmed voice ringing in her head and asking her not to take it. If she does get closer, she will hear a lot more whispers, but Jessie will stop her before she gets too close. If she accepts to do it, Jessie will give her the Gunner Job.
