• Applications are open on the first week of each month. • Make sure to read the Rules and FAQ before posting an application. • Apps are processed within seven days, so do not panic if the mods do not reply immediately to your app. If after a week there is no sign of mod activity, then please contact us. • You can app a maximum of two characters per app round. You can have a maximum of four characters in-game. • Challenge applications will not be not accepted. If someone has already put in an application for a character you want to app, you will have to wait for this character to be accepted or rejected. Likewise, you cannot app for a reserved character until the reserve period for this character ends. • Gilgamesh, Artemicion and Summons from the Final Fantasy series cannot be applied for. • You are free (and encouraged) to post a link to your app rather than post it here in several comments. |
Player Name: The alias you go by. Age: Reminder you need to be at least 15 to play here. Personal Journal: Leave N/A if non applicable. Contact: AIM, Plurk, e-mail, whatever else. Other In-Game Characters: Leave N/A if non applicable. Character Name: Name of your character. Age: Age of your character. Please put an approximation if your character's age is unknown. Gender: Whichever gender your character identifies as. Canon: The canon your character is from. Canon Point: The canon point you will play them from. History: A Wiki Link will be enough. Otherwise, please write around 300 words to detail your character's history in their canon. Personality: What traits define your character, what drives them, how do they think? What are their strengths, their flaws, their weaknesses? Please provide us with an in-depth vision of your character-- Of their mind, of how they think, of how they deal with relationships and how they interact with people. Of what they do and for what reasons. We do expect example from their history to be provided when discussing their personality. However, we want to see an analysis of their personality, and not a timeline summarizing their lives. We would like to see around 400 words for this section. Third-Person Sample: Prose sample; it can be from a previous game, from the test-drive meme, from a musebox, from dear-mun or something totally new. All samples should be less than one year old. You cannot use brackets for this sample. Mognet Sample: Write us a letter your character would post on Mognet! Remember characters can dictate letters' content to their Moogle, so not knowing how to write is no excuse not to post on Mognet. Because this sample is set on Mognet, you cannot link a sample from a previous game or musebox. Furthermore, it has to be something written dictated or written by your character, not something the Moogle did on its own. Crystallis Moogle Name: The name your Moogle will have! Moogles are already named by the time they meet the character, but OOCly you are free to choose your Moogle's name. Remember, they're essentially OC you can use and that will stick with your character till the end, so choose wisely. Moogle Gender: Male or Female. First Job: The Job your character will be equipped with. Upon awakening in Aqures Ixen, they will be wearing the default clothing of this Job. Second Job: The second Job they'll be equipped with. If you would rather them not to have two Jobs, leave N/A. Limit Break: Limit Breaks are attacks (or healing/defensive moves, etc) characters can call upon when they're on death's doorsteps. A last resort of sorts. Name and write the Limit Break that your character will have access to. Limit Breaks are independent of the Job system, and can be a power they once had in their homeworld. It can be overpowered, but within reason. • OU / Regular Application For AUs, Game Transplants and OCs, there are different requirements for the personality section. Also, the history section is replaced by other sections • AU Canon Resource: A link to a wiki about the original version of the character and/or the canon they come from. Please write 300 words if no link exists. Alternate History: Write here how the history of this character differs from their canon-self. Again, 300 words expected. Personality: Write the personality of your character in your AU, with the same standards than for an OU app. On top of the expectations we have for regular personality sections, here we also expect to see comparisons made between the original self and the alternate self, pointing out their differences and similarities. Remember, differences and similarities ought to be balanced out in an AU. • Game Transplants Former Game: The game(s) your character was in before. Canon History: A Wiki Link will be enough. Otherwise, please write around 300 words to detail your character's history in their canon. Game History: What happened in your character while he/she was in their game(s). Personality: On top of regular expectations for a personality section, here we want to see how their personality changed and evolved in their previous game(s). We also expect to see examples regarding what happened to them in their previous game to justify the personality changes. • Original Characters World History: The history of the world your character comes from. Please be specific, at least 300 words here as well. Character History: The history specific to your character; again 300 words please. |

- The personality section seems to focus too much on the negative aspects to the character. We would like to see a few more paragraphs or a revised section with more focus on positive aspects and his relationship with other characters.

( POSITIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS & VIVI )
Much like how self-worth was mentioned – like stated – Zidane is a meddler in others affairs. Rather than talking about how this can be negative, there are many positives too, for our hero isn’t something horrible. Heavens no, perhaps that’s portrayed, but Zidane is rather selfless in his actions. He’ll boldly help those in need without second question. Venturing into the questionably ‘inescapable’ wilderness within the first playable moments in hopes to rescue Princess Garnet, who he barely knows, shows this. Later canon shows off Zidane risking not only his but the life of his trusted friends to save the Genomes from planet Terra – now with less needs to fill his self-worth and more reassurance that things will be okay… eventually. Many times within canon Zidane is offering his life to others, I understand I brushed this when talking about Kuja but this passion marks one of Zidane’s most powerful positive features. The ability to put himself in other’s shoes, to understanding the pain others feel – wanting to find that place to belong has grown him adaptable to those sort of teachings and with such an amazing fatherly figure like Baku, he has all the more reason to consider the world around him and focus less on those selfish troubles contently.
Vivi really helps bring these positive feelings out within Zidane, acting as a catalyst for those inner feelings of belonging. The black mage brings out maturity, something Zidane’s gained on his own rather than given. Knowing how to communicate with Vivi and help him with those troubles for they are shared. Being the big brother with guidance and life experiences but not cuddling him like a mother hen, letting Vivi make his own choices and mistakes but being there to pick him up when he falls. Zidane is the master of knowing when someone needs their space and when they require a shoulder, mostly attempting to keep Vivi supported. Maybe they could lead each other to what really matters in their lives and in the end, they do.
Understanding people makes Zidane relatable; he understands that Eiko doesn’t want to be alone anymore… She’s only six and would be safer staying in the village but he also understand that feeling – oh, does Zidane understand loneliness – and thus takes our youngest member aboard. Not just dumping her off on other characters either, he does his far share as does Eiko. That comes with his maturity; he’s rather grown mentally for someone still so young. Being able to accept when he’s wrong isn’t something most adults admit – he was wrong about the way he originally treated Garnet, Mikoto and the Genomes, and Kuja (at least, most notably). He doesn’t need her love, they don’t need to fit his perfect idea, and Kuja doesn’t deserve to feel worthless – and of course, the hardest one, Zidane needed his friends on Terra. They are here for him and he was wrong feeling so self absorbed.
Selflessness, maturity, compassion / Vivi and a little brushing on Eiko for backup.
How’s that? His positive personality traits mirror with his negatives (making him a better character, really) so my big focus was on not sounding repetitive. Hopefully that's understable and this works.
