NPCs

CID Cid is a Roalien engineer whose work resulted in the creation of many technologies, most noticeably Airships. A genius, he has worked on a revolutionary airship capable of crossing the barriers surrounding the Continent of Ruin, the Enterprise. He was kidnapped by the Empire, but the Heroes of Light freed him and his creation when they attacked the Heran Research Center. He is in charge of repairing the Enterprise and he is best known for his rude honesty and (lack of) manners. Being the former regent of Aqures Ixen and the man who took care of raising the Queen, he is de facto the man in charge of the kingdom now.
BIGGS Biggs is one of those who were appointed by the Queen to lead the Kingdom of Aqures in her absence. He is the best friend of Wedge, and he is under orders to assist the "Heroes of Light" in any possible way. Captain of the Kingdom's militaries, or rather what's left of them, Biggs does not believe in the legends of old and is very unsure about those heroes. In spite of this, his loyalty to the Queen drives him to follow her orders anyway. Biggs sometimes gives missions to the heroes, more often than not with a focus on fighting.
WEDGE Wedge is one of those who were appointed by the Queen to lead the Kingdom of Aqures in her absence. Best friend of Biggs, he is under orders to assist the Heroes in any possible way. An historian, Wedge studied in depths the Legend of the Heroes and is a firm believer that the prophecy is true. However, he is not really sure what led the Queen to think appointing him, Biggs and Jessie to lead the Kingdom was even close to a good idea. Like Biggs, Wedge sometimes gives missions to the heroes. However, his missions have more of a focus on exploration and finding the secrets behind Crystallis' past. Maybe with these missions, it is possible to discover why and how the Heroes were summoned to Crystallis, and thus find a way home. He also sometimes give missions about more mundane things. |
QUEEN SARAH The Queen of Aqures mysteriously disappeared one week before the first Heroes appeared in Aqures Ixen. It appears she left willingly, as she left behind a letter containing instructions for Biggs, Wedge and Jessie to assist the Heroes in any possible way. Why she disappeared so suddenly is unknown, but her knowledge of the Heroes' arrival can only mean she knows a lot more than anyone else regarding the situation. She seemed to be loved by her people and her disappearance is seen as a tragedy by many. Especially by those who were appointed to take charge in her absence. The Queen of Aqures mysteriously disappeared one week before the first Heroes appeared in Aqures Ixen. It appears she left willingly, as she left behind a letter containing instructions for Biggs, Wedge and Jessie to assist the Heroes in any possible way. Some Heroes later discovered that she has been secretly serving as the President of Esdham since leaving Aqures Ixen. Imperial NPCs
KALKI One of the three members of the Triumvirat, the highest authority in the Empire after the Emperor himself. She was in charge of Heran Research in the Magitek and Crystal sections and was formerly involved in Research at Aqures Tosf twenty-eight years ago. Her motives have not been fully understood. She has been revealed to be a Doppleganger of a Hero from a previous cycle, and knows a lot about the Heroes and the Calamity. Her research seemed to be intended to awaken the Calamity, though Heroes later found a VHS tape left by Kalki with information on how to defeat Garland and even become Gods. Her status and whereabouts are currently unknown since she fell down a chasm in the Imperial City.
KURMA One of the three members of the Triumvirat, the highest authority in the Empire after the Emperor himself. He was in charge of Heran Diplomacy and Communication, and is the son of Emperor Garland. He worked against Garland and Kalki from the inside and has secretly helped the Heroes of Light in the past, using Kalki's own technology. A few Heroes have managed to make contact with him, but the motives behind his actions remain a mystery. His status and whereabouts have been unknown since the crystallization of the Heran Imperial City.
GIBBS Gibbs is one of the imperial spies who infiltrated the Magitek Research Facility and faced the Heroes of Light. He was defeated by the Heroes, but he managed to flee along with the black crystals he and his colleagues had set out to steal. He doesn't seem to be particularly loyal to the Empire and is just doing his job. His loyalty to Deweg and Jenni is perfect however, even if he'll be the first to facepalm at them. He was equipped with the Ninja Job newly created by the Empire, which was absorbed by the Heroes of Light's crystals.
DEWEG Deweg is one of the imperial spies who infiltrated the Magitek Research Facility and faced the Heroes of Light. He was defeated by the Heroes, but he managed to flee along with the black crystals he and his colleagues had set out to steal. He is Gibbs and Jenni's superior and he seems to be very focused on his duties. His loyalty to the two of them is perfect. He was equipped with the Magitek Knight Job newly created by the Empire, which was absorbed by the Heroes of Light's crystals. He piloted one third of the Ultima Weapon, along with Palitutu and Artemecion, but was defeated by the Heroes of Light.
JENNI Jenni is one of the imperial spies who infiltrated the Magitek Research Facility and faced the Heroes of Light. She was defeated by the Heroes, but she managed to flee along with the black crystals she and her colleagues had set out to steal. Her loyalty to Deweg and Jenni is perfect, but she is also very loyal to the Empire and particularly to Kalki. She was equipped with the Illusionist Job newly created by the Empire, which was absorbed by the Heroes of Light's crystals. She has been despondent since Kalki’s disappearance, and was the one to give the Heroes Kalki’s VHS research tape
MOGRAMA A self-proclaimed servant of the long-dead King Moggle Mog XIV, who seeks out to resurrect him and unite all Moogles under their good king's banner. He was the mastermind behind the events of the Night of the Thirteen Moogles, using one of the black crystals stolen in the Magitek Research Facility to manipulate the Heroes of Light. His ties with the Empire are unclear, but it appears he is affiliated with Kalki. He was captured and is now on parole in Aqures Ixen, under the guard of the Heroes of Light. |
THE EMPEROR Emperor and Founder of the Heran Empire, Garland has never shown his face in public, always wearing a black armor. Very little is known about him as he acts mostly through his closest advisers, the three members of the Triumvirat. Garland has been revealed to be the Guardian of the Cycle, focused on keeping the Calamity contained by never allowing it to devour Crystallis and move onward. He will destroy anyone who opposes his perpetuation of the crystal cycle. |
MATSYA One of the three members of the Triumvirat, the highest authority in the Empire after the Emperor himself. She holds the rank of Admiral and is the commander of Imperial Forces. She is said to dislike Kalki but is loyal to the Emperor. She escaped the crystallization of the Imperial City and was responsible for evacuating many of the Herans to safety. Though the Heroes have yet to encounter her, they have heard reports that she has mastered the Freelancer class and is a deadly fighter. She is also the last surviving member of the royal family of the old Kingdom of Hera, which Garland captured and formed into the Heran Empire |
PRAJAPATI A mysterious figure who seems to be affiliated with the Heran Empire. She appeared after the Heran Imperial City crystallized, and sought out Heroes who promoted peace for all the citizens of Crystallis. She helps maintain order in the Village of Santa Claus since the arrival of the refugees there. While her motives are yet unknown, she seems to be willing to ally with the Heroes of Light to promote the greater good. |
Other NPCs
PALITUTU / JESSIE The Tarutaru who summoned the Heroes of Light to this world. She caused the destruction of Aqures Tosf twenty-eight years ago and set into motion the events that led to the raise of the Heran Empire. By faking her death and stealing the name Jessie, she gained the trust of those working in Aqures Ixen while manipulating the events from behind the scenes. Little is known about her real self, only that she was Kalki's mentor and Garland's mother figure. She is supposedly over a hundred years old and is often see working with Artemicion, the former director of Mognet. Her Ultima Weapon was defeated by the Heroes of Light, and she fell into a coma. She is currently at the hospital in Aqures Ixen, recovering.
ARTEMICION Artemicion is the former director of Mognet and used to be close collaborator of the leaders of the Kingdom of Aqures. A Moogle infamous for disastrous fur dyes and his love of Kupo Nuts, Artemicion is a magnet for trouble. Even in times of peace, he has a gift to draw troubles to himself, as well as to the poor souls that happen to be in his vicinity. He works with Palitutu and does everything she asks of him. Whilst he seems hesitant and not as determined as she is, it is believed he was the one who leaked the Heroes of Light's letters to the Heran Empire. He piloted one third of the Ultima Weapon, along with Palitutu and Deweg, but was defeated by the Heroes of Light, and is now in custody in Aqures Ixen.
O'AKA XXIV A merchant working in Aerilon. What distinguishes him from your average merchant is that he's the one who has access to all the big stuff, such a Magitek Armor and Computers. And characters can buy them from him... So long as they can pay the price. He keeps saying to those interested that he took this name to honor one of the legendary Heroes of Light whose name was "O'aka the 23rd," the most brilliant merchant of all times. Unfortunately, there is no way to verify whether his story is true or not.
MONSTER ARENA GUY An old man who once pestered a Hero of Light for help, and ever since his request has been granted, he's not stopped pestering the Heroes of Light as a whole. His real name is a secret to all but he owns the Monster Arena next to Aqures Ixen and regularly sends requests to the Heroes of Light to help him make this arena into the ultimate arena in the world. He has access to Jobs no one else knows of and is seemingly rich-- Rich enough that he'll never run out of money to reward the Heroes if they accomplish his quests.
CITIZENS The population of Crystallis is varied and diverse. Four sentient races are represented throughout the population of Crystallis: the Human, Moogle, Tarutaru and Hypello. What they think like greatly depends on the region. But as a general rule, the entire spectrum of thoughts can be found amongst the citizens of Crystallis, from the heights of wisdom to the depths of stupidity. |
