This city is a gigantic amusement park as well as a competitive center, possibly the single most popular city in all of Crystallis. Yearly competitions of Blitzball and Triple Triad are held there. Additionally, many other distractions can be found there: Chocobo Races, a casino where one can play various card and gambling games, a battle arena, etc. The city is not very populated and is handled by Tarutarus for the most part. Yet, countless people try to come here if only for a few days. Indeed, this city is one of the rare place where they can forget about the troubles that pollute their world. In spite of being located in a fairly cold region, the city itself is kept relatively warm thanks to Magitek equipment. There are hotels where people can stay-- For a price, of course. Noticeably, nights last longer than days in this city and there are fireworks every days at midnight. |
TRIPLE TRIAD CENTER Who doesn't love Triple Triad? No one, that's who. The Triple Triad center is where all Triple Triad lovers can meet and play, be they beginner or expert players. There are competitions for for experts to compete and win the title of Triple Triad Master, along with some fabulous rewards; most of them involving astronomic quantities of Gils and vacations in Flence. But fear not for there are also tournaments for casual players-- No matter how good or bad one is, they can have fun with Triple Triad here. |
BLITZBALL STADIUMS In the same vein than the Triple Triad center, the Blitzball Stadiums are there for all lovers of the aquatic game. Unlike in Aqures Ixen, there are not one but three stadiums, along with smaller sized pools for beginners to learn playing or practice different games based on the same rules than Blitzball. When not used for Blitzball, the two smaller stadiums can be used for other sports as well. There are tournaments held regularly where national and professional teams play, but casual players can use the stadiums and pools for their own fun: so long as they pay for using the stadiums, that is. |
BATTLE ARENA Latest technology smuggled from the empire gave birth to the Battle Arena: a place where you can battle monsters at your heart's content without risking death. The monsters found in the arena are not real and are actually Crystal Projections. Additionally, there are security systems making it impossible for monsters to kill people, yet pain feels real enough when these monsters hit characters. Death and injuries cannot happen, but the sensation of pain is there to make it feel as if the battle was the real deal. Supposedly, this technology is derived from torture methods used by the Empire... There are three mode which characters can chose to use in the Arena: the challenge mode, where they are to face ten consecutive battles, each harder than the previous one for varied prizes, such as weapons and equipment. There are various difficulties setting in challenge mode, from beginner to expert. There is also the free mode, where characters can chose to face any of the monsters in the arena's catalog, and lastly the memory mode. Memory mode allows characters to use a crystal so as to re-create a battle they already experienced in the past: be it a battle in Crystallis or in their homeworld. Perfect to improve their tactics or try and win this battle they never could win before. |
CHOCOBO RACING Chocobo Racing is where characters can go and bet on Chocobos in race, with the hope to win fantastic prizes, ranging from Gysahl Greens to thousands of gils. If your character isn't happy simply betting, they can chose to participate in the race instead: for this, they first have to capture their own Chocobo and then register it. No matter what awaits them, fame or shame, that's worth a try. |
CASINO In this casino, characters can take part in all sort of gambling games: poker, slot machines, roulette, lotteries-- It's a lot of fun and they can win a lot, but can their wallet take it? While they may win astronomic quantities of Gils, they may also lose everything, and that's a little bit sad. Most games there relies on pure luck and cheating is severely punished. Additionally, the game of Tetra Master can be played here as well, a less popular variant of Triple Triad. |
TEMPLE OF WIND North of the city is the Temple of Wind-- It is a bit far, but the beauty of the temple is worth seeing. The Crystal of Wind can be found there, it is open to the public and kept in a large room, identical to those found in the Temples of Earth and water. Even though the Crystal is kept in a closed space, there is always wind blowing in this room. |
RIDES There are a number of amusement rides all over the city, should your character want to have a bit of fun. Rides are varies and involve some such as the Shooting Coaster where characters have to shoot virtual targets all around the city, or the Gondola should your character be in a romantic mood. Or they may choose to go the Bumper Chocobos-- Wooden Chocobos gliding thanks to magic in a similar fashion to bumper cars. |
MINI-GAMES All around the city, mini games can be found. Some of them are very basic, such as shooting stands-- Coincidentally, all the targets are vaguely similar to the main antagonists of numbered Final Fantasy games. There is also a Motorcycle mini-game, featuring one of the mysterious vehicle of the Empire; except it's a toy, with the purpose to protect a Chocobo and its passenger from Imperial soldiers. There are also a lot of attractions that were featured at the Festival of Light in Aqures Ixen, such as the treasure chest games, where characters are presented with ten chests and can open only one-- Prizes range from one Gils to gigantic plushies. There is also the infamous fortune teller Moogle, it is notable that his predictions will always include either the character suffering hell or dying soon, in one form or another. Hopefully this moogle is just a scam. |
THEATER PLAYS The company who played the "4 Heroes of Light" in Aqures Ixen now works here, and give a performance every two days. And they do not only play the 4 Heroes of Light! They do actually have a wide range of plays, from love stories and drama to comedies. Sometimes, they pick people in the audience to play parts in the plays, which nearly always goes wrong for the one who was picked. Good luck, should it happen to your character. |
HORROR SQUARE Not only is one of the hotel disguised as a horror house, but this hotel is surrounded with horror rides and mini-games; which has earned it the nick name of the "horror squares." Everything in this square is designed with the intent to give people passing by a heart attack, or at the very least to scare them. So your character shouldn't worry if suddenly the ground beneath their feet started breathing as if it was alive or if a literal ghosts tapped their shoulder. They're just very well designed attractions. ... Probably. |
AUCTIONS Next to the casino, there is a mansion where auctions are regularly held. A lot of rare and precious items are sold there. Most people frequenting the auctions are rich, but your characters may have their chance as most of the time nobles and rich people can't recognize a good deal when they see one. Still, going there with an empty wallet is meant to cause nothing but heartaches. |
HUNTING & SURVIVAL This game does actually happen outside of the city, even if the registration office is inside. Real monsters are unleashed in the snowy plains north of the city, and people who signed up for the game have to hunt as many of them as possible. The more dangerous monsters are, the more points they will earn to those killing them. It also doubles as a survival game, as winter storms are frequent in these plains. Professionals keep an eye on participating people though, so no one can die unless something goes very wrong. |
MOGNET OFFICE Like in every other major city, there is a Mognet Office characters can visit in this town. This one is particularly budy compared to the others and all Moogles wear costumes while working. |
