Heran Research Facility
This is just a general idea of what the facility looks like to help you navigate it and pick which floors interest you the most. The doors for each level open with keycards, which can be picked up on the crystallized corpses of soldiers or researchers. However, the systems no longer work so each crystallized doors has to be smashed. The air ducts can lead into any floors (save for sub-level 27). The elevators no longer work. The upper floors are all sealed off from the outside world, thus it is impossible to leave or enter the facility.
Top Floor: Head Researcher Office
This is where Kalki's Office is.
01st Floor: Offices
There are the offices of various researchers within this floor.
Ground Floor: Entrance Hall
The entrance Hall; there is a staircase going down, as well as a listing of the upper floors.
Sub-Level 01: Employee Rooms
Nothing special to be said here; that's the floor where employees used to live.
Sub-Level 02: Researcher Rooms
Nothing special to be said here; that's the floor where researchers used to live.
Sub-Level 03: Guest Rooms
Nothing special to be said here; that's the floor where guests used to live.
Sub-Level 04: Meeting Rooms
This is a meeting floor where researchers met and spoke of their findings.
Sub-Level 05: Communications
This floor is where all communications with the outside world were handled. There are radio devices here and things close to actual phones, but none work.
Sub-Level 06: Security Offices
This floor is where the security team used to be stationed, along with their equipment.
Sub-Level 07: Starting Point (Formerly ??????????)
This floor is where the Crystal of Earth is being contained and where the characters from "Another Side, Another Story" start off upon reaching this place.
Sub-Level 08: Job Creation
This floor is where new Jobs were being created, restored or improved.
Sub-Level 09: Job Study
This floor is where items for sealed skills are kept, except for Magitek Armors. Each of the "Another Side, Another Story" characters may have picked up one maximum.
Sub-Level 10: Experimentation Floor #1
This is one of the floors where experiments were being conducted.
Sub-Level 11: Specimen Containment
This is where particularly dangerous specimen were being contained. It used to be empty but half-crystallized entities may be fought on this floor.
Sub-Level 12: Weapon Storage
In this floor weapons can be found; and Magitek Armors as well. However, they are all crystallized and inusable.
Sub-Level 13: Archives
This is where records of past experiments and projects used to be kept.
Sub-Level 14: Artifact Storage
This is where artifacts from the Ancients were stored. For the most parts, they are bizarre machines.
Sub-Level 15: Experimentation Floor #2
This is one of the floors where experiments were being conducted.
Sub-Level 16: Soldier Base
This floor is where the soldiers were based. This used to be the most dangerous floors, but is now littered with crystallized corpses.
Sub-Level 17: Monster Containment
This floor was home to all kind of monsters from Crystallis, contained in cells. They are all crystallized now.
Sub-Level 18: Cells
This floor was a prison floor. This is where Yuffie, Luffy, Yuna and Rikku were once kept, their names can be found there.
Sub-Level 19: Experimentation Floor #3
This is one of the floors where experiments were being conducted.
Sub-Level 20: Isolation
This is where the characters from the February/March 2015 app round started off. Their names can be found on a file.
Sub-Level 21: Heroes of Light Storage
A hangar where countless of crystallized Heroes of Light used to be kept. It is now empty.
Sub-Level 22: Regular Storage Floor
If they didn't get any weapon or belongings upon waking up in Aqures Tosf, they'll find some protected here. Indeed, in this floor, the Heroes of Light will find some of their belonging: namely their original clothes from back home, along with a weapon (either their Job weapon or the weapon they had back home).
Sub-Level 23: Failed Experiments Storage
In this floor were stored the "failed" experiments. That involves dead Heroes of Light, hybrid of crystallized people and monsters and other abomination of nature. It is possible for said hybrids to 'wake up' upon coming in contact with the Heroes, even though they are crystallized, and thus become monster they have to fight. As a bonus, these may be people from their homeworld.
Sub-Level 24: Crystals Storage
This is where various crystals used to be stored, and noticeably the Black Crystals that were stolen from the Magitek Facility in Aqures Ixen. There should be four of them, but there are currently none.
Sub-Level 25: WEAPON Hangar
This floor is a gigantic hangar where Ultima WEAPON used to be contained and studied. It is now gone.
Sub-Level 26: Airship Hangar
This is the sub-level where the airship "Enterprise" was being built. It is now gone.
Sub-Level 27: ??????????????????????
This sub-level can only be accessed by going down the Elevator Shaft, deep beneath the rest of the facility. There are crystallized gigantic test tubes there with crystallized people inside. The room beyond was home to a gigantic blue crystal, but it is gone. Instead there is a hole leading into the Crystal Caves.
