Player Name: Maximillian (or Dr. Hojo) Age: 26 Personal Journal: N/A Contact: Plurk @DoomChocobo Other In-Game Characters: N/A
Character (Original Universe) Name: Keith Kogane Age: Late Teens Gender: Male Canon: Voltron: Legendary Defender Canon Point: After the end of Season 1 and getting thrown through a wormhole.
Personality: Keith was a former ace pilot of the famous Galaxy Garrison. He gained that lofty position due to his keen instincts and natural talent for air craft. His confidence in himself and his abilities frees him from hesitation that would ordinarily cripple a new pilot, allowing him to accomplish impressive maneuvers in both the air and on the battle field. Unfortunately, that same confidence makes it difficult for him to work in group situations. He is quick to point out others mistakes, usually with little tact involved, and struggles to follow social cues from others. This inability to play well with others is what eventually flunked him out of Garrison, much to his distress.
As a goal oriented individual, he struggled on what to do without the purpose that Garrsion offered. He wandered the desert for a while, but eventually followed his instincts until he was drawn to a curious location. He did not question the validity, or really the sanity, of a mysterious energy that called him to search. Keith is an individual who goes with his instincts, and those instincts gave him a new purpose that drove him to scour the desert and get his hands on any information he could to find the answer to the mysterious source. That same drive led him to leading a one man assault on the quarantined landing zone of an alien ship. His confidence in his skills allowed him to pilot an over loaded hover bike out of enemy hands and off the edge of a cliff, with no damages aside from some slightly ill passengers.
Overall Keith usually has a calm demeanor. He is deliberate and thorough in his thoughts and actions, and doesn’t carry out tasks meaninglessly. Unfortunately, that calmness can quickly be over turned when confronted. His surety in his own actions makes it difficult for him to back down when confronted with a differing opinion or if he if or his talents or belittled. This is best exhibited by his friendship/rivalry with Lance, the blue paladin of Voltron. The inability to back down once caused the ace pilot to plow his lion head first into the ground in a refusal to be first own to back down in a game of chicken. Confrontation and a desire to complete his mission also pushed him into a one on one fight with Zarkon, the emperor of the Galra Empire, in spite of desperate pleadings from the rest of his team to back off lest he be killed.
Despite his hot headedness and difficulty with social cues, Keith can be very protective of his teammates once he has warmed up to them. The same relationship that drives Keith and Lance to near blows on a daily basis also drove Keith to rush to his aid when an enemy attack left him near death. He also felt no hesitation throwing himself in the line of fire when an unfortunately timed flash back but his team leader, Shiro, at risk during an unfortunate training exercise. Keith needs to be comfortable with a group of people before he can let loose and laugh a little.
When Keith sets his mind to a goal is completely driven to complete it. When he was in Galaxy Garrison his desire to fly pushed him to the top of his class. When he flunked out due to conduct, his desperation for a new purpose drove him to find everything he could about a mysterious energy that called out in the desert. When a giant blue lion took him through a portal he got his strangest and heaviest mission yet to become the red paladin of Voltron and defeat Zarkon. While the task may seem daunting to most, Keith follows it with seriousness and dedication, one that sometimes steps on his teammates toes. When Pidge, another paladin, announced that she was leaving the team to find her missing family Keith was quick to call her out for abandoning her duties and calling her irresponsible. This sentiment was again repeated when Princess Allura was captured by the Galra. While the rest of the team was all for assaulting the central command of a 10,000 year empire, Keith called for the plan to stop. He saw no point in risking themselves to save Allura with barely a week’s worth of teamwork if it meant risking Voltron falling into Zarkon’s hands. He liked Allura as much as the others, but one life was not worth that of the billions that still depended on them in the rest of the universe.
After careful consideration I’ve determined the transports known has chocobos are not the drunken ramblings I’d assumed them to be. Guess I’m not as traveled as I thought. The ability to transport over water, mountains and other terrains will be very helpful. Thanks for the directions out of town, I’ll return once I’ve found a suitable bird. I’ve heard they come in red. Keith
