He could be wearing his suit of black armor, in itself it's just another armor. The armor that is off-limit is the literal Magitek Armor, the device that is separate from the character. This one he would have to somehow regain or steal from this game's empire.

As for how to handle his lack of canon face: once again it is up to you. You could play around the issue by having him wear his helmet at all times, or you could pick what you think is an appropriate face for him. In the end, that is entirely your decision.
